ReSound Sensia

ReSound Sensia is a premium hearing aid that automatically focuses on the person you're facing, helping you follow conversations in noisy places while keeping you aware of the sounds around you.

ReSound Sensia is ReSound's newest premium hearing aid family. Many AI-powered hearing aids focus on the loudest voice in the room or mistake background music for the sound you want to hear. Sensia was designed to solve that problem, while keeping the very small size and long-lasting battery of its predecessor, ReSound Vivia.

Hearing the Person You're Facing

Sensia uses an automatic sound system called Intelligent All-Around. AcoustIQ listens to your surroundings and turns on the right features for each situation. A 4-microphone beamformer, which uses microphones on both hearing aids, focuses on speech coming from the direction you're facing. DNN denoising, a type of AI trained on large amounts of sound, then reduces competing voices and distractions around the person you're talking with.

When the noise is mostly non-speech sounds, like a fan or vacuum cleaner, Sensia switches to ReSound's Noise Tracker II system, which handles that kind of noise more cleanly. It also keeps some sound from all around you, so you still have a natural sense of where sounds are coming from. In a ReSound study of 20 hearing aid users, Sensia made the person in front the easiest voice to hear for 80% of participants, a finding later supported by independent researchers at Hörzentrum Oldenburg.

Connectivity and Auracast

Sensia supports Bluetooth Low Energy Audio, the newest generation of Bluetooth for hearing aids, and Auracast, which lets you tune in directly to sound systems in theaters, airports, and places of worship. Auracast works right out of the box, and you can choose available broadcasts through the ReSound Smart 3D app. For people who use a Cochlear Nucleus cochlear implant in one ear, ReSound Sensia Bimodal is designed to work together with the implant's sound processor.

Styles and Battery Life

Sensia comes in a very small rechargeable behind-the-ear model (called a microRIE), size 312 and 13 behind-the-ear models, and several custom in-ear styles. The rechargeable models are rated for at least 24 hours of use, and up to about 30 hours depending on how you use them. The full automatic Intelligent All-Around system is available in the top technology level, Sensia 9 microRIE, and Dr. Bome can help you find the level that fits your needs and budget.

The right hearing aid works best when it's programmed carefully for your ears. At Valley Audiology & Hearing Center, Dr. Kamila Bome, uses real ear measurement, a process that checks how sound actually reaches your ear, to make sure your hearing aids are set correctly. She then fine-tunes them during follow-up visits to make sure they work well in your everyday environments.

Call our Feasterville-Trevose office at (267) 684-6171 or our Rockledge office at (215) 379-2256 to schedule an appointment with our audiologist and find out whether ReSound Sensia is right for you.
