Oticon Reveal

Oticon Reveal is Oticon's next-generation rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid. Instead of removing as much background sound as possible, Reveal is designed to find your personal balance point, the setting where speech comes through clearly while the meaningful sounds of your environment stay accessible. This approach reflects Oticon's third generation of AI-based hearing technology, following Oticon More and Oticon Intent.

How the Dual-AI System Works

Reveal uses two artificial intelligence systems that run at the same time and share information continuously. Speech AI identifies and enhances speech, making voices easier to follow. Context AI preserves the surrounding sounds that help you stay oriented, such as footsteps behind you, a car approaching, or activity in another room.

The two systems evaluate your sound environment every two milliseconds, then combine their results so that clarity and awareness work together rather than competing. This processing takes place in the Reveal AI Clarifier, the part of the hearing aid responsible for balancing speech and environmental sound.

Reveal also continues to use 4D sensor technology, which considers what you are doing before deciding how to process sound. The sensors account for your head and body movement, conversation activity, and the acoustic environment around you. In practice, the hearing aid responds differently when you are walking through a busy street than when you are seated across from someone at dinner.

Feedback Management

The Reveal Optimizer is Oticon's updated feedback prevention system. Feedback is the whistling sound that can occur when amplified sound escapes the ear and re-enters the microphone. The Optimizer provides faster, more precise feedback control along with additional fitting headroom in the higher frequencies. For patients, this can mean access to more of the amplification prescribed by your hearing test, particularly with open or vented fittings that leave the ear canal less occluded.

Connectivity and Streaming

Reveal includes a new connectivity platform and radio transmitter, offering improved wireless streaming range and connection stability compared with previous Oticon models. Connectivity features include Made for iPhone compatibility, optimized Android connectivity, Bluetooth Low Energy Audio, Google Fast Pair, and Auracast broadcast audio compatibility. Auracast allows you to connect directly to public audio broadcasts in venues such as airports, theaters, and places of worship.

A new Streaming Comfort feature automatically lowers surrounding environmental sound while audio is streaming to your hearing aids, keeping phone calls, music, and podcasts in the foreground. The amount of reduction can be changed through the mobile app or set by your audiologist in the fitting software.

CROS Compatibility, Charging, and Colors

A new Oticon CROS transmitter launches alongside the Reveal platform. CROS solutions are designed for patients with little or no usable hearing in one ear, transmitting sound from that side to the better-hearing ear. The transmitter uses near-field magnetic induction and Bluetooth Low Energy Audio, supports dual streaming, and remains backward compatible with supported Oticon products.

Reveal uses Oticon's premium charging hardware, with both a desktop charger and a portable travel charger available. The hearing aids and the CROS transmitter use compatible charging systems, so you can keep everything powered with the same equipment. Reveal is offered in several standard colors, including a new Deep Plum option.

Is Oticon Reveal Right for You?

Reveal tends to suit patients who value natural, open sound quality, want to stay aware of their surroundings, and prefer speech clarity without aggressive removal of environmental sound. It also works well for open or vented fittings and for anyone who wants dependable wireless connectivity. Patients who prefer the strongest possible reduction of background noise may be better served by a different processing strategy, and Dr. Bome will discuss those options with you during your evaluation.
